Patrick Henry Corner Chair - Colonial Williamsburg Licensed Reproduction

SKU: S90-18

$2,875 MSRP: $5,750

Bring home a remarkable (and comfortable) piece of history to enjoy! Crafted of black walnut wood and featuring a black leather seat, this chair was reproduced from an antique chair dating from 1765 to 1785 in the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation collections. The original chair is believed to have been owned and used by Patrick Henry and was among the furnishings at Red Hill Plantation where Henry spent his final years. Fashioned by an unknown furniture maker, the original corner chair remained at the family plantation until 1910 when many of Patrick Henry’s possessions and papers were sold at auction in Philadelphia.

Imagine Henry sitting on the edge of his seat reading by flame the revolutionary works of the Renaissance that would seep into America itself.
